My name is Kelsey Ogden and I am a photographer and filmmaker based in California.
I have been taking photos and videos professionally since I graduated UC Irvine in June 2015 with my degree in Film and Media Studies. I immersed myself deeply in film for 3 years in college before considering taking a photography class to help hone my eye and improve my compositions. Little did I know, the first time I stepped into the dark room (yes an actual dark room), a whole new world of opportunities would open up to me. In my last year of college, I really found my passion for photography and decided to pursue both photo and video work after graduation. Since then, I have worked with a wide range of companies and individuals, like Segment, GrubHub, Center for Asian American Media, City College of San Francisco, Bay Area restaurants and caterers, independent musicians, and individuals of all different backgrounds and lifestyles. I have also done plenty of assisting on photo and video shoots, working alongside seasoned photographers and filmmakers at companies like Slack, Rakuten, Foothill College, and Asana.
I thoroughly enjoy learning about different people, cultures, stories, and businesses through my camera. I tend to have an observational approach and enjoy capturing moments in a documentary style. While I’m not afraid to get in the middle of the action for the best shot possible, I usually have an unobtrusive approach to capturing the moment.
Travel, food, and music are my biggest passions outside of work but are very much reflected in my photos and videos.
